Agricultural land (farmland)
- land that is systematically used to obtain agricultural products[1].
Data on the area of farmland is collected by Rosreestr - it includes the following lands:
- Fallow land
- land plots that were previously used for arable land and for more than one year, if counting from the fall, have not been used for crops and have not been prepared for fallow; - Perennial plantings
- agricultural land used under artificially created tree, shrub (without forest area) or herbaceous, perennial plantings intended for harvesting fruits and berries, technical and medicinal products. Perennial plantings include: garden, vineyard, berry garden, fruit nursery, plantation; - Pasture
is agricultural land systematically used for grazing animals (and such use is the main one), as well as land plots suitable for grazing livestock, not used for haymaking and not fallow land; - Arable land
is agricultural land that is systematically cultivated and used for crops, including perennial grasses, as well as clear fallows. Arable land also includes vegetable gardens, greenhouses and greenhouses. Arable land does not include land plots of hayfields and pastures occupied by sowing preliminary crops (for no more than two to three years), plowed for the purpose of radical improvement, as well as the row spacing of gardens used for crops; - Hayfield
is agricultural land systematically used for haymaking.

First All-Russian Agricultural Census
In an agricultural power, which the Russian Empire has always been, 76,716,986 dessiatines were arable land (this is 83.8 million hectares). The largest part (76.7%) was in the European part of the country, about 19% in Siberia, and only 4.4% in the steppes.
