10 convenient ways to pay for gas using a meter: simple instructions

The gas distribution organization Mosoblgaz provides services for the supply of natural gas to the population of the Moscow region. Most subscribers installed gas meters, which allowed them to save on resource fees. But in this case, it is necessary to transmit monthly meter readings in order not to pay receipts according to the standards.

Therefore, in this review we will describe in detail how to transmit gas meter readings to Mosoblgaz subscribers. You will also learn about all payment methods and fees. This way, you can save on payments and find the most convenient way for you to interact with your gas supplier.

How to take gas meter readings and fill out a receipt

Metering devices are different in every home. But the principle of collecting data is the same. To correctly record information, you need to know what numbers to write in the payment book.

The monitor on a mechanical gas meter is designed in this way: 5 digits are located on a black background, 3 on a red background. In electronic models, these numbers are separated by a comma. To take gas meter readings, do the following.

  1. Write down the first five digits before the decimal point without taking into account the leading zeros (if the device is old, there may be no zeros).
  2. Record these statements on your receipt in the “Real” column. From last month's bill, enter the readings in the "Previous" column.
  3. Calculate the difference in cubic meters, multiply them by the tariff for 1 cubic meter. meter of natural gas. This is the amount that needs to be paid for using the resource.

With the completed receipt, you go to the nearest bank branch and pay the bill (you can do this online, we will tell you more about this below). In some regions, for example, in Crimea, the gas industry has its own subscriber department with a cash register through which you can make payments directly. It is important to take readings correctly. Enrollment takes place on the same day. If you pay through a credit institution or Russian Post, the money will be transferred with a delay of 3-5 days.

Deadlines for entering information on gas meters

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 549 of July 21, 2008. regulates the deadlines within which the population is recommended to submit data from their gas meters. You must submit your testimony within the last five working days of the current month. Why do this every month on time is discussed above. You can add that each subscriber can conclude an Agreement on the procedure for payment for gas with the gas supply company. The subscriber who has concluded the Agreement will have access to a preliminary calculation of gas consumption, receipt of advance receipts, as well as the opportunity to transmit meter readings twice a year - on June 25 and December 25.

Gas tariffs for the population in 2021

From January 1, 2021, gas tariffs for the population were raised. For Moscow and the Moscow region, with the exception of the Novomoskovsky and Troitsky Autonomous Okrug, the following tariffs apply:

If there is no gas meter: availability of a stove and central water supply - 8.30 rubles. per cubic meter of gas/person, but not less than 56, 69 rubles per month; the presence of a gas stove and any type of gas heater for water - 20.80 rubles per cubic meter/person, but not less than 71.03 rubles for the reporting period; if the house only has a gas stove, and there is no water heater or heating, the cost of a cubic meter of gas will be 10.40 rubles. This figure is multiplied by the standard. In Moscow this is 10 cubic meters per person.

In Moscow and the Moscow region, if a gas meter is installed, regardless of whether there is a gas stove, centralized hot water supply or not, the tariff will be fixed. It will be 6.83 rubles.

If a gas meter is installed in the house and there is autonomous heating with a gas boiler, then the tariff per 1 cubic meter will be 4,904 rubles.

For the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region there are separate tariff plans for paying for gas by meter.

  1. If only a gas stove is used for cooking and heating water - 6,367 rubles / cubic meter.
  2. If a house or apartment has a water heater and there is no centralized hot water supply, the tariff is the same - 6.36760 rubles / cubic meter.

And in all other cases, even with autonomous heating by a boiler, the tariff remains the same. For consumption of blue fuel in the amount of 1000 cubic meters, the subscriber must pay 6367 rubles. excluding service fees.

From 07/01/20, the tariff will become higher - 6558.78 per 1000 cubic meters.

In order to find out the tariff for the population in your region, visit the official website of the management providing the resource. For example, the State Unitary Enterprise “Krymgazseti” operates in Crimea. Register in your personal account and select your area.

You can also call the customer service department and clarify the tariffs for your specific address. If the subscriber belongs to the preferential category “Large Family”, then the tariff for using natural gas will be half as much.

Also, benefits for gas payments are given to pensioners, war children, disabled people of the Second World War and labor veterans. The tariff for these categories of people is calculated individually. The subscriber must independently pay 22% of the payment amount. For veterans and disabled people of non-working groups, the subsidy must be at least 50%.

Conclusion

A flow meter that accurately determines the volume of gas is a device with many advantages. The only inconvenience is that you have to report his readings to the gas service every month. However, the presence of several modern methods makes it possible to do this without leaving home. The main thing is to transmit information accurately and on time.

Natural gas is used in apartments and private houses for cooking, heating water and heating rooms in the winter. Residents pay for the resource according to the actual volume of fuel consumed. Consequently, every owner of a residential property must know how to take gas meter readings in order to make the next payment to the account of the gas supply organization. To do this, you need access to a meter, which can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

Calculation of payment amount: formula and example

You can calculate the gas on the meter and find out the amount of payment for using blue fuel on the website of the company that supplies the resource to your house or apartment. Many regional portals have online counters. They allow you to quickly calculate the amount of payment, taking into account whether you have a meter.

You can calculate gas consumption yourself. To calculate gas from the meter, use a special formula:

P=T*N

P is the total cost of gas consumed for the reporting period;

T - tariff (separate for each region);

N is the amount of gas consumed during the reporting period according to meter readings.

Let's look at an example.

At the end of April, the gas meter reading was 804 cubic meters. In March, on the same day, the readings were 656. This means that we first need to find the difference between the present and previous readings. To do this, subtract 656 from 804. We get 148 cubic meters—blue fuel consumption. Now we multiply 148 cubic meters by 5.20 (that’s how much 1 cubic meter of gas costs in the Republic of Crimea). We receive 769 rubles 60 kopecks for payment.

Is there a law on the installation of smart meters?

“Smart” systems are rapidly breaking into our lives, helping to save time and ensuring life safety. In theory, smart gas meters should provide accurate gas metering for users and suppliers, eliminating theft.

This issue is being discussed in government circles; specialists have even been tasked with developing a corresponding bill. First, it is necessary to resolve a lot of issues, one of the main ones being financing. It is still unclear who will pay for the installation; experts do not undertake to predict the development of events. There are unofficial opinions that the device will be installed for low-income families at budgetary expense, while others will pay from their own pockets.

The total amount of financial costs that are not included in the state budget has been calculated. Therefore, the cost of installing meters will most likely fall on the shoulders of consumers.

It is proposed to make the installation of meters in residential buildings with the function of remote transmission of readings mandatory next year.

If you consider how much a “smart” gas meter costs, and this is 5,000-10,000 rubles, the conclusion suggests itself: not every family can afford such expenses. The profitability of widespread installation of such meters is also questionable. It will take many years for the consumer to pay back, and this will not save gas services from losses due to leaks.

So there is no reason yet to say that everyone will be forced to install such meters. In any case, official sources do not confirm this.

“Smart” meters are still available for free today, and anyone can purchase and install them. True, only if the gas supply organization has the technical resources to receive readings.

Helpful advice! To have accurate data, you need to read information about the mandatory installation of smart meters on the government portal and on the websites of relevant ministries.

The profitability of smart meters is highly questionable.

How to submit testimony

Before paying for gas on the meter, you need to submit the readings to the authority providing the service. To do this, you can use any of the convenient methods: call, send an SMS to the number of the district inspector, or transfer the readings through your personal account on the website of the service organization.

SMS

If you have the controller's phone number, you can send him an SMS message with the readings taken from the meter. Be sure to include your personal account number.

Telephone

The subscriber can call the telephone number personally to the controller or to the subscriber department of the gas industry. Get ready to dictate your personal account number and current meter readings.

Department employees will enter the readings into the database in your personal account and immediately name the amount that you should pay for the reporting period (month).

In your personal account

For prompt transfer of data from the metering device, it is convenient to use personal accounts. To do this, you need to register on the supplier’s official website and regularly make changes via the Internet.

There are resources that provide for the transfer of testimony without prior registration. All you need is to indicate your personal account number and real gas equipment readings.

What are the consequences of not submitting data on time?

One of the subscriber’s obligations under a gas supply contract is to timely notify utility services about the amount of gas consumed. If the utility service does not receive meter readings on time, then charges are made according to the Delivery Rules. According to clause 31 of the Rules, if less than 3 months have passed from the billing period to the moment of data transfer from the gas meter, then charges are determined based on the average monthly consumption volume of a specific subscription. If the equipment was installed less than a year ago, then the data is taken for the actual period of operation of the devices.

If the subscription has not transmitted information for more than three months, then the calculation is carried out according to consumption standards. In order to be able to transfer information from the meter in the future, the subscriber needs to write to the management company an application for a specialist to come out to check the equipment and carry out an inventory. If a malfunction of the equipment or absence of a stamp is detected, the readings will not be accepted.

If the subscription has notified in advance that it is impossible to provide data due to absence from the place of residence for more than 1 month, calculations will not be made according to the standards. After the specified period, the equipment may be switched off.

Payment via the Internet

You can pay for gas online in several ways: using the supplier’s official website, through Internet terminals and personal accounts, using the Internet banking system (if you have cards from Russian banks: Sberbank, RNKB, VTB, Tinkoff and others).

The subscriber can also use other payment systems to conduct transactions. Popular ones are PalPay, Yandex.Money, Webmoney. To use the service, in the list of proposed payments in your personal account, select “Payment for gas” or in the search write the purpose of the payment and the name of the company to whose account you want to transfer the money. There are several other methods you can use.

  5. Keep the payment receipt.

On a note! Check each number carefully. If you enter the payment incorrectly, the payment may go to another recipient.

Electronic wallets

If you use the Yandex.Money or Webmoney payment system, you can pay for gas directly on the website.

  1. Go to your wallet, find the “Payment for services” tab.

  1. Scroll down the form, then fill out the payment method selection block. The top field will indicate that funds will be transferred from the phone number. Enter your mobile number and indicate the amount for gas. Enter the code from the image below. Next, check the box that you agree to the terms. Check all the details again and click the “Pay” button.

Where can I pay for gas in person?

After filling out the receipt and reporting the gas meter readings, the subscriber is advised to pay the bill by the 10th of the new month. If you don't do this, you will be in debt. When it is not possible to conduct a transaction online, you can visit several establishments:

  • any credit organization (Genbank, Sberbank, VTB, Post Bank, ChBRR)
  • Post office;
  • directly at the office of the gas service company;
  • in the offices of the City system.

You can pay for gas use in advance. For example, in the summer, when only a gas stove and a water heater are used, the consumption of blue fuel is reduced by half. The subscriber can pay a large amount of the bill in advance. During the cold season there will be an overpayment.

What to do if the readings are transmitted with an error

If you accidentally transmitted the readings of a gas meter with a large error, then it’s okay. Just pay the amount received on the receipt; next month the payment will be less.

If the readings are underestimated, then immediately call the customer service department or enter new data in your personal account on your supplier’s website. The user can enter readings three times a month.

Mutual settlements will be made according to the latest readings.
If the organization has doubts regarding the specified information, a controller will come to the subscriber’s residential address within a few days and take down the correct data. Useful article? Rate and share with friends!
