Features when registering a newborn and possible problems
The law provides for deadlines for registering a child. They are one month from the moment of birth. It is better not to delay this issue, since otherwise you will have to pay a fine, the amount of which ranges from one and a half thousand to two and a half thousand rubles. The registration period may be longer if the registration is going to be done at the father’s place of residence, but the marriage has not been registered. Then, in addition to other documents, the mother’s consent to this action is also required, which is certified by a notary.
Registration Form 8 of a child is done without the consent of the owner of the premises. But in the future his opinion should be taken into account. There are situations when he refuses to register a newborn in his living space. Then it is recommended to receive a refusal in writing, and then write a statement and send it to the prosecutor's office.
It also happens that parents cannot agree on whose address to register the baby. This happens if they are registered in different rooms. Then they can go to court, which will order an examination and, taking into account the living conditions, make a decision. However, most often, the court takes the mother’s side. And this often happens even when the father’s living conditions are considered better.
In fact, registration form 8 can be obtained without any problems. The main thing is not to miss deadlines and remember that such a certificate will be required for various purposes, and it must be presented along with the birth certificate.
Who can apply for Form 8?
As stated above, to obtain a certificate in Form 8, citizens need to contact the passport office or MFC.
Such citizens may include:
- Parents of the child;
- Adoptive parents or guardians of the child, who will permanently register the child in their living space;
- The owner of the living space who is ready to register the child with him. To do this, the child’s parents need to issue a power of attorney, which is written according to the sample.
The power of attorney must indicate that with the consent of the parents, the owner of the property can obtain Form 8 regarding the child’s registration. This option will be relevant if, for some reason, the child’s parents have only temporary registration.

Secondly, upon presentation of Form 8 and other necessary documents, the child’s parents or guardian, if necessary, can receive food for the child at the dairy kitchen.
Institutions where it can be submitted
The certificate is issued with the purpose of being presented, if necessary, to the appropriate authorities. A sample form is attached to the article. It allows you to determine the territorial affiliation of a person, in this case a child, which is extremely important when registering children in educational institutions.
Form 8 will be needed for:
- Placing your child on the waiting list for kindergarten.
- Registration of the child in the preschool group after the turn comes.
- Submit documents to school.
Admission to educational institutions theoretically has no restrictions on any principle. But in practice, when compiling lists, first of all, those children who are registered on the territory of this educational institution are enrolled. Children who do not have permanent or at least temporary registration in a given area belong to the second stage and can be enrolled in a group or class only if there are free places.
In addition to educational institutions, the certificate makes it possible to receive child benefits and enjoy other government benefits.
