One series unites a group of houses that are similar either in the material of the walls or in the time of construction of the buildings. According to the wall material there are:

• Brick houses are standard series, the external walls of which are built of brick;
• Panel houses are standard series assembled from ready-made reinforced concrete panels;
• Block houses are standard series, the external walls of which are built from concrete blocks.
• Monolithic houses are standard series in which the building frame and main floors are cast from concrete.

Based on the construction time in Moscow, four main periods of construction of apartment buildings can be distinguished:

• Stalin's series . Houses designed and built according to standard designs in the 1959s are predominantly block or brick;
